Using NetPoint for Portfolio Project Management
& Coordinating Projects for a Port Authority
This two-part case study demonstrates how NetPoint is being used on projects for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Dane McBaine of PMA presents Part 1: Advantages of NetPoint/GPM for World Trade Center Redevelopment Portfolio Schedule Management. This presentation examines the effectiveness of NetPoint®/GPM® in a portfolio environment using a case study for the recently completed Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ) World Trade Center Redevelopment (WTCR) integrated portfolio baseline schedule. Use of NetPoint increased stakeholder participation buy-in during the interactive planning session, produced multiple high-level, single page network plans, reflected the major handoffs and interfaces between projects and project areas, all leading to increased efficiency and project success.
Mitul Parikh of PMA presents Part 2: Coordinating Three Projects at the World’s Busiest Bus Terminal. This case study describes how NetPoint was used to communicate the project scope to various stakeholders at the Port Authority Building Terminal in New York. With stakeholders input, NetPoint successfully helped coordinate between three independent projects in a program, identify project constraints, set realistic project milestones, and perform a Risk Analysis.
