Sheraton New Orleans – New Orleans, Louisiana
Detroit, MI ()
PMA Technologies held its third annual NetPoint® User Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, January 25-26, 2013.
Participants learned from both PMA practitioners and industry leading planners and had opportunity to select between case study and educational track breakout sessions. The breakout sessions were based on user-requested issues that included: capital planning with NetPoint, introduction to NetRisk, planning with scheduling in mind, how to import a P6 plan into NetPoint, and case studies demonstrating how NetPoint is being used to manage major transportation and pharmaceutical projects.
Conference members also attended a keynote by Dr. Gui Ponce de Leon, PE, PMP, LEED AP, participated in a panel discussion, attended a patent celebration the company recently received for the Graphical Path Method®, and additional NetPoint training sessions. The keynote, Mitigating the Planning Fallacy (Risked Schedules─The New Normal), set the stage for the this year’s conference highlight, the introduction of NetRisk™, and described how it will change the future of schedule risk analysis in the industry.
NetRisk, NetPoint’s risk analysis module, allows users to perform risk assessment using Monte Carlo and Latin Hypercube simulation. NetRisk improves the risk assessment process by building the risk functionality into one window and a cohesive set of tabs to smoothly move from building the risk register through analyzing results. Further, NetRisk provides visual feedback and data validation along the way, in addition to being the only risk analysis tool that uses the same application to build and then risk the schedule.
