Interaction with Excel has been completely rewritten, and schedule layout and formatting are now preserved when working with P6. In addition, resources can be sent to MS Project, and NetPoint can now interface with Deltek Open Plan.
Five new designs have been added for milestones and benchmarks, object descriptions are now fully customizable, and default settings have been extended to all object types.
Schedules often depend on a lot of supporting data files, so we’ve added project folders to automatically organize them all together. Plus, the new built-in zip utility makes sharing schedules and their associated data a breeze.
Working with Excel is more flexible, customizable, and robust than ever before. You can now import data from any Excel file, export custom reports using any combination of object data, and even update a NetPoint schedule based on changes to a linked Excel spreadsheet.
When you send a NetPoint schedule to P6 and then import it back, everything appears as you’d expect: objects are still on their original grids, description and formatting characteristics are maintained, and display settings are saved. The entire look and feel of your schedule is now preserved.
Each schedule has its own folder with related Excel, recovery, simulation, and iObject files automatically organized together. Now, when you open a project on another computer, it will always have everything it needs.
In addition to triangles and hourglasses, you can choose from stars, diamonds, and flags – useful for distinguishing events from one another and communicating more details about your schedule at a glance.
Font, color, alignment, style, and size can be customized for activity, milestone, and benchmark descriptions. In addition, abbreviated descriptions allow you to display shorter labels on the canvas and maintain a cleaner schedule appearance.
In addition to activities and text objects, set properties in advance for milestones, benchmarks, embeds, links, and shades. Customizing default properties like milestone descriptions ahead of time helps you avoid repetitive steps later on.
