Shapes are low-fidelity, black and white symbols for annotating the canvas. These include arrows, brackets, lines, rectangles, and a circle, for example. Both shapes and shades are added through the same toolbar icon.
Steps
Adding Shapes
- Click the down arrow to the right of the Shapes icon
and choose the desired shape.
- Move the cursor to the desired location.
- Left-click with the mouse.
Locking/Unlocking Shapes
- Click the Select Tool icon
in the toolbar.
- Right-click on the desired shape.
- Choose to lock or unlock accordingly.
NOTE: Even when unlocked, a shape will never be included when dragging to select other objects. To include one or more shades, first select the other objects, and the press the SHIFT key on the keyboard, clicking each shade individually.
Rearranging Shapes
- Click the Select Tool icon
in the toolbar.
- Left-click with the mouse on the desired shape.
- Click from the menu bar.
- Choose or accordingly.
NOTE: Shapes and images can be moved in front of or behind other shapes or images, but not in front of or behind shades.
Moving/Resizing Shapes
- Click the Select Tool icon
in the toolbar.
- Left-click with the mouse on the desired shape.
- To move, drag the shape without letting go to the new desired location.
- To resize, move the cursor over any of the black boxes until a double-arrow appears.
- Left-click with the mouse.
- Without letting go, drag the box until the new desired size is achieved.
- Release the mouse.
NOTE: To resize a shape asymmetrically, right-click on the shape and uncheck the option before attempting to resize.
