A target is a snapshot of a schedule at a given moment in time. Creating a target captures the start date, finish date, duration, and total float of all activities. As the schedule progresses, current activity data may then be compared to earlier target data. A target report may also be exported to Excel.
Setting a Target
To set a target, click from the menu bar.
The Project Targets window opens.
The first column lists any targets captured in chronological order.
The second and third columns list the date and time the targets were captured. Click the New… button to capture the current start date, finish date, duration, and total float of all activities.

The date and time columns will populate, and the description column will become highlighted for typing. Enter an appropriate description.
Repeat these steps each time after setting a new data date.
Deleting a Target
To delete a target, select it from the list in the Project Targets window and click the Delete button. This must be repeated manually for every target desired for deletion.
Comparing Targets to Current Date
To compare data from an earlier target to the current state of the schedule, click from the menu bar.
The Target Comparison window opens.

The report is divided into horizontal blocks—five rows for each activity.
The rows list the description, start, finish, duration, and total float for each activity.
Select the desired target from the dropdown to populate the target and variance columns.
Activities may be rearranged in the list by clicking the down arrow button next to Order List by and selecting the desired option.
Any delay is indicated by a negative variance; any gain is indicated by a positive variance.
If PolyTime is enabled, the duration, total float and variance, will all correspond with the schedule’s time unit. For example, if the user has set the time unit as hours, then the total float, duration, and variance will be in hours. Otherwise, the period will default to days.
Only one target at a time may be compared to the current schedule. Two targets cannot be compared to one another.
Click the Exit icon
to exit the window.
Exporting Targets
