Statusing Objects

Entering actual dates and durations (also known as “statusing”) is best done graphically on the canvas.

If an activity or other object has been delayed (or even started earlier) then it must be repositioned on the canvas. Select it with the Select ToolSelect Tool Iconand then drag it later or earlier in time.

If an activity has not started at all, it may be automatically slid to one day (or other time unit) after the data date. See Actualizing Multiple Objects.

To change the duration of an activity (i.e. crash or extend), hover over an end node until the double arrow displays. Use the mouse to click and drag the node in either direction.

If using touch-based input, such as a stylus on a tablet computer, or if making such incremental changes proves difficult, use the Gestural Interface to reposition, crash, or extend any activities. See Gestural Interface for more details.

Alternatively, dates and durations of activities and other objects may also be modified numerically through their corresponding Object windows. To do so, double-click on a desired object with the Select ToolSelect Tool Iconand make the necessary changes in the Properties/Dates sections or tabs.

Once statused, objects are ready to be actualized.
