NetPoint provides two searching options: Activity Quick Search and Object Filters. Quick search is a way to find an activity based on its description. Filters allow all objects in the schedule to be narrowed down based on multiple criteria.
Activity Quick Search
To find an activity, click from the menu bar. The Activity Quick Search window opens.

At the bottom is a list containing every activity in the schedule.
To search for an activity, enter any portion of the description into the box. The list of activities will be narrowed down as typing occurs.
Click Find to spotlight the activity on the canvas and close the window.
Object Filters
For more search options, click from the menu bar. Both the Filter Parameters window and the List of Filtered Objects window open.

Objects to Include
By default, activities and delays will be included in the search.
To include additional objects in the search, mark their corresponding checkbox. The parameters below will become enabled or disabled based on which objects are selected.
Single-Selection Parameters
These parameters are fields used to narrow down search results, but only one option from their dropdown lists can be chosen for a given search.

Description & ID
Choosing Ignore will result in a wide range of results. Choose another option, such as Contains or Matches to narrow them down further. Text fields are not case-sensitive.
Duration, Float, Link Gap
These can be searched based on whether or not they are less than, greater than, equal to, or in between a given number.
Criticality
Choosing Both will ignore criticality.
Calendars
The calendars field allows objects to be searched for based on what calendars they’ve been assigned.
No Successors/Predecessors
Check these boxes to find objects without any successors or predecessors. If both were checked, all unlinked or unconnected objects would result.
Superimposed on Grids
Check this box to find any objects which are overlapping on the same horizontal grid line.
After Project Completion
Check this box to find any objects finishing after the project completion date.
Multi-Selection Parameters
These parameters are fields where more than one option can be selected. For example, a search could be done to find any activities with both carpenters and cranes as a resource.

Resources
The Resources option allows objects to be searched for based on which resources they’ve been assigned. Ignore is the default option.
Choose Any to find all objects that have resources assigned to them. Scroll down the list to select any number of individual resources for inclusion, indicated by a black box to the left of the resource name.
Choose None to find only objects without resources assigned to them.
Colors
The Color option allows objects to be found based on their color. Ignore is the default choice.
To include a color, scroll through and select each desired color from the list, which will be indicated by a black box to the left of the RGB value.
Codes
The Codes section allows objects to be searched for based on which codes they’ve been assigned. Ignore is the default choice.
Choose Any to find all objects that have been assigned any value.
Click None to find only objects without assignments.
Or, choose an individual code from the dropdown button. Once chosen, scroll through the list of values to select any number of individual values to search by.
Finalizing the Filter
Once the desired selections are made, click the Add To List button. The List of Filtered Objects window will update with any results matching the selected criteria.
This list can be ordered by ID, start date, finish date, description, or grid number by choosing from the dropdown button at the top of the window.

The object type is indicated by a small icon in the left-most column.
All objects in this list are spotlighted on the canvas with a yellow background.

More focus can be given to an object by clicking/selecting its description. This causes the viewing perspective to jump to the location of the object, which will be surrounded by a black box on the canvas. Once chosen, an object can be faded or highlighted on the canvas using the buttons below. However, the object will not actually be selected on the canvas.
To select objects on the canvas, mark the selection circle field in between the object icon and the description field, or use the Select All button to select every item in the list.
Clicking the Add to List button again will maintain the existing results and add any new results accordingly.
Clicking the Refine List button will update the existing results based on any changes to the parameters or schedule.
Clicking the Clear List button will erase the existing results.
When finished, click the Exit icon
to close the window.
