Right-Click Menus

Right-clicking in NetPoint will bring up a context menu containing a number of options applicable to the object (or canvas) selected. Some of these are general system options, such as Properties…, Cut, Copy, Paste, and Delete. Others are NetPoint shortcut options, such as Assign Resources…., Manage Schedule Progress…, Fade, and Actualize. The rest are the unique options, in that they are only accessible through the right-click menu.

The Canvas Right-Click Menu

Right-clicking on an empty portion of the canvas will bring up a menu with the following options:

Properties… will open the Schedule Properties window.

For descriptions of Cut, Copy, and Paste, see the Edit Menu.

Insert Image File(s)… will open a window to browse and select an image to insert onto the canvas.

Set This Date as will reset the project start or project completion to the date corresponding with where the canvas was right-clicked.

Display Resource Limit Overage Information at Cursor will display current and maximum resource consumption levels when the mouse cursor moves over any red portion of the histogram.

Display Schedule Statistics… will open the Schedule Statistics window to view basic schedule metrics and stats (like number of activities, percentile floats, etc.).

Manage Schedule Progress… will open the Manage Schedule Progress… window to view and edit a tabular list of all pending and actualized objects before the data date.

Restore Default Position of Data will reset the position of any descriptions, IDs, dates, floats, drifts, buffers, gaps, and total floats back to their default locations. It may apply to: All ActivitiesSelected ActivitiesAll Links, or Selected Links.

Hide/Show Project Completion/Start will turn off or on the display of the project completion and project start flags respectively.

Object Right-Click Menus

Right-clicking on any object will bring up a menu with the following options:

Properties… will open the Properties window for the applicable object.

For descriptions of Cut, Copy, and Delete, see the Edit Menu.

The rest of the menu will contain options specific to each object, some of which may be shortcuts, others of which may only be accessible through the right-click menu. Below is a list of only those unique options.

View Predecessors and Successors… will open the Predecessor and Successors window for the selected object. Available for activities, milestones, and benchmarks.

Split Activity… will open the Split and Link Activity window for the selected object, which allows one activity to be divided into two separate activities. Available only for activities.

Customize Position of Description, Dates, etc. will allow an activity’s description, ID, dates, duration, float, drift, and buffer to be repositioned anywhere around the selected activity. Also available for links.

Customize Position (keeping dates symmetric) will allow activity data to be repositioned but move the start and finish dates symmetrically. Only available for activities.

Restore Default Positions will reset the position of any activity data that has been modified back to its default location. Also available for links.

Add Annotation at will switch the cursor from the Select ToolSelect Tool Iconto the crosshairscreating custom-placed text boxes associated with the selected object. Available for activities, milestones, benchmarks, links, shades, info objects, and hammocks.

Hide Annotation will temporarily hide an annotation from the selected object. Available for activities, milestones, benchmarks, links, shades, info objects, and hammocks.

Delete Annotation will permanently remove an annotation from the selected object. Available for activities, milestones, benchmarks, links, shades, info objects, and hammocks.

Reset to Project Start will set the most current data date equal to the project start, erasing any previous data dates and de-actualizing any activities in the process.
