PMA Technologies held its 6th Annual NetPoint and GPM Conference in New Orleans, LA, on January 29-30, 2016, at the Sheraton New Orleans. Current and prospective NetPoint users from all around the world gathered to share knowledge on the planning and scheduling software founded by Dr. Gui Ponce de Leon, PE, PMP, LEED AP.
Since its commercial release in 2008, NetPoint has been an invaluable tool to individuals seeking powerful and elegant planning tools in the project management sector. The conference was organized as a means of connecting with these individuals to provide scheduling best practices and communicate the software’s benefits and ever-improving features.
This year’s program began with a Friday morning training hosted by Tim Mather, PMP, of PMA Technologies. The day continued with an informative presentation by PMA’s Dax Ponce de Leon, PMP, LEED AP BD+C and Joseph Puzon, EIT demonstrating NetPoint in action.
Saturday’s agenda included a keynote presentation by Dr. Gui entitled “In Pursuit of Reliable Schedules: Introducing NetPoint Numerati”, which introduced new schedule analytics functionality in NetPoint for modeling and recasting attributes and data within a schedule or within two compared schedules. The agenda also featured an assortment of case study presentations by talented speakers that included Kevin Wilson, PE from the Public Works Department of Monroe County, FL; Don Gardonio and Eric Sylvestre, EIT of Facca Inc.; Santosh Bhat, PSP of Australasian Project Planning; and John Audi, PhD and Irena Gagulic of Massport. PMA leaders Jaime Sobrino, AIA, LEED AP, PMP, Jonathan Galuska, and Bruce Stephan, JD, PE, PMP also presented lessons learned using NetPoint. The day also included a technical session from Seve Ponce de Leon and Sergio Ponce de Leon entitled “Previewing NetPoint Schedule Analytics”.
